❖ Make your next assignment more productive, healthy, and enjoyable ❖
Being away from home can be a real challenge. That’s especially true when you’re on assignment for weeks or months at a time. Sometimes it can be hard to truly settle in and find a sense of normalcy.
If any of this hits home, we’ve got some suggestions that might help! Here are 3 tips to make your time away productive, healthy, and enjoyable.
Keep your routines alive!
To the extent you’re able, strive to keep your routines similar to those you follow at home.
Usually go on a jog or hit the gym on certain days each week? Make it a priority to stay on that schedule. Have a nightly ritual of reading or watching your favorite Netflix series before bed? By all means continue this while you’re away.
Routines are calming and give us a feeling of control and familiarity. While you may be miles away from home, there’s no reason you can’t maintain many of your routines.
Make good diet choices.
Go ahead, admit it. You’re probably tempted to abandon some of your healthy eating habits while your on assignment, at least to some degree.
While it might feel good to splurge, there’s usually a downside. If you take it too far and fall into new unhealthy habits, it leads to weight gain, reduced energy, and an overall more negative emotional state.
Don’t worry. It’s fine to treat yourself sometimes. It’s just about finding the right balance. If you do that, your body and mind will thank you!
Be selective about your accommodations.
This one hits close to home for us. It’s also a big reason we do what we do…
Being away on assignment is a big sacrifice, but finding the right lodging can make all the difference. When it comes to your overall well-being while away, there is a HUGE difference between spending 12+ hours a day looking at the walls of a 300 sq/ft hotel room, and settling into a larger condo or apartment that feels more like a home.
The extra space, privacy, and amenities all play a key role in keeping you positive and productive, and we’re proud to play a part in that!
